Happy Tuesday....what's new with you?
Good morning/afternoon everyone......
I tried posting this earlier and it wouldn't work....I will try again!!!
We are going to be having storms again this afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day until about a half hour ago. It isn't looking so good anymore. Nothing to serious just thunder and lightening. I only live about a mile from the Mississippi River. Our area never floods.
I continue to worry about Judy and others that live in the flooding areas. Still praying for them.
I did a couple loads of laundry this morning. I have that all folded and put away. I spent about an hour working with a couple of the ladies doing a new puzzle. I still haven't read the newspaper so I will do that in a little while. Oh what an exciting life!!!
Wishing you all a really nice day!
Prayers for our awesome OFF Family!!!
Love and oodles of hugs to all....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
We are supposed to have storms here, too. I had a headache last night right at deadline. Made it hard to concentrate. Plus, three stories came through at the same time in the last half hour (national) along with two local stories that didn't need to be late. So I wasn't feeling very good at all. Started thinking again about quitting and filing for disability. It comes to mind every now and then when the pain gets to be too strong.
I'm off today and have no plans. Will probably do laundry and maybe vacuum a bit. Just don't have a whole lot of energy today. Didn't even want to get out of bed, but did about 11 a.m. I got up about 10 but just laid in bed for about an hour before actually moving. That's how lazy I felt today. Connie, I can relate ... you have to haul your laundry down the hall ... I just have to take it to my w/d in my apartment. And even that some days is too much to think about doing.
Anyway, not much happening here. I'm still drinking coffee. Thinking about a nap.
Have a good day.
Hello Eileen....I hope you are sitting in your recliner with your feet up and a cold beer in your hand!!! What a night you had last night! I am so happy you have some much needed time off!
My laundry room is only about 20 feet from my door. I have a laundry cart so I have no heavy lifting. I wish I had W/D inside my apartment!!! The only thing I hate is if we leave our apartment we must have shoes on...no slippers.....no PJs or robe either. I am a barefoot kind of gal...I hate wearing shoes inside!!
I hope you have a great evening!!

Hello sistas!
I hope everyone is well and staying high and dry. I noticed on FB that Pat (Troyer Boggs) has a lot of flooding going on at her place. I hope we hear from Judy today. So much rain in some parts of the country and so little rain in others. We could really use some of that rain down here.
So, I have GREAT NEWS: I have officially been discharged from the Wound Care Center!!! Yippee! I went in for my hysterectomy on Dec 9th, so it's been over 6 months of healing time for me. Whew! Never again. I had to laugh at Dr. F (the PS). She was cautioning me not to let my incision get sunburned! I burst out laughing. My incision is just barely above my hoohah, you know? I told her, "Don't worry, Doc, that's one area of my body that NEVER sees sunshine!!!"
My poor darling husband is not having a good day at all. He had another really tough night and today he has done nothing but lie around in the bed or the tub or the recliner. He has a lot of pain today in his hip, as well as in his back. The pain pills don't seem to be helping him very much. I continue to be worried about what really might be wrong with him. Prayers are very greatly appreciated, sistas.
Sooo, since I was already in town, and since I didn't have hubby in tow, I went to Jo Ann's Fabrics after I finished at the doctor's office. Oh, I had the best time just wandering up and down the aisles all by myself and looking at everything. I do love to browse and shop!
Today I was looking for party favors for the Outlander party I'm having in August. I just love to entertain. Outlander is set in Scotand, so I'm trying to create party favors that go with the themes in the books. I bought some plaid fabric to make little goodie bags. I already ordered some little perfume samples of Claire's favorite perfume (she's the main character). Today I bought very simple chain bracelets ($1.50 each and they were 50% off) and some dragonfly charms (also 50% off and dragonflies are another big motif in the books). Each bracelet is less than $2 each! I scored big on that one. I also ordered some cross stitch bookmarks, and I'm going to change up the pattern to make them a Celtic design with the Fraser clan motto "Je Suis Prest" stitched on them. And the last thing I bought today were some cross stitch acrylic coasters and I'm going to cross stitch Jamie's initials (the other main character) on them: JAMMF (James Alexander Malcolm MacKensie Fraser). I think the goodie bags will be a big hit and we can all wear our bracelets and Claire's perfume while we watch the premiere on Starz.
My next task will be to plan Scottish foods featured in the books for our party. I already have the Cherry Bounce fermenting. I've been collecting recipes for Scottish Shortbread and Hot Bridies (meat pies) and bannocks (oatcakes cooked on the griddle). Thank God no one eats Haggis in these books! Ugh!
Well, I'm just chattering away today about nothing important. I really need to get in there and work some more on my sewing room. I did manage to get all my bills paid (oy vey!) and my desk looks better today.
Love you all soooo much!
Hello Vickie.....I am so happy for you I could do cartwheels!!!! I am glad you have finally been sprung from the Wound Care Center!!!!
Of course I will continue to pray for Butch. So sorry he is having such a tough time right now. Constant pain is no fun.....believe me I know.
I am so jealous.....your party will be so much fun!!! It sounds like you will have such fun favors and such. I can't wait to watch the show!!! I will definitely be thinking of you and the ladies!! Telling us about all the food really makes me feel like I am in Scotland. YOU better serve Haggis....LOL!!!!!! After drinking all the Cherry Bounce you won't even remember what the Haggis is....LOL!!!
Glad you got your bills paid and your desk in order!!
Love you...HUGS....connie d
Good Evening,
I am home for less than an hour. I was at Colleen's very early, so she could take Izzy strawberry picking. She got home in time to give me some strawberries, and I ran home with them. Then, I scooted to the zoo, to take some animals out to a 4-H group an hour away from there. There was a huge communication breakdown when we got there, and someone from the zoo took a call from the director of the 4-H group complaining about how we were handling the group of kids. After we got back from the zoo, the woman we spoke to told us we didn't do anything wrong, once she investigated.
Now, I'm going to a baby shower for our pastor's wife, the mom of the premie.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Trish....all those fresh strawberries...yummy!!!!!
Hope all went well at the zoo...gathering the animals for the 4-H group. I am sure they enjoyed that! Glad you got the communication breakdown figured out....I wonder what someone else said. I know you would be great with the kids and the animals.
I hope the baby shower went well. I am sure they got many very nice gifts. How long before they can take her home??
Love and hugs.....connie d
